Experience and the person handling your case

Ask about the lawyer’s usual work and experience with similar problems. Find out whether another lawyer, paralegal or other team member would work on the case, and whether that changes the charges.

Fees, expenses and expectations

Ask how charges are calculated, when payment is due and which expenses may be separate. Request a written explanation of the arrangement before deciding. Ask what uncertainties the lawyer sees; a result cannot be guaranteed.

A simple comparison note

For each consultation, record the date, the person you spoke with, your questions and their answers. Add anything you still need clarified. Use the same questions in each conversation so differences are easier to see.

Using our law firm directories

Our directories provide selected firms with published local office and accident-practice information across the initial ten states and forty cities. Entries are alphabetical and unranked. Inclusion does not measure reviews, legal skill or likely results. Use the official source links to confirm current details and review our directory methodology before choosing whom to contact.
