Use the state guide links below to find official records resources and source notes. The investigating agency and crash location matter; the state where you live may be different from the state where the crash occurred.
Compare like measures
Our 2024 NHTSA FARS figures describe fatal crashes, people killed and fatal crashes involving a large truck. They do not count every collision, determine responsibility or predict case value. State-agency publications may use different severity and geographic definitions.
Keep individual questions separate
Ask the appropriate insurer or attorney about your particular records, coverage and deadlines. SettlementLift does not file a claim or stop a deadline. Its inquiry requests follow-up from SettlementLift or a service partner.
